one fated trip to bali…
In 2017, my husband and I embarked on what we affectionately called an "act as if" trip to Bali. It wasn't just a vacation; it was a deliberate decision to step into a version of our future selves—a life filled with adventure, freedom, and limitless possibilities.
As we boarded the plane with our laptops in tow and our kids by our side, we felt a sense of excitement and anticipation coursing through our veins. We were ready to immerse ourselves in a world of spontaneity and exploration, to live fully and authentically in the present moment.
During our time in Bali, we lived and breathed the values of freedom and adventure. We worked from cozy cafes overlooking lush rice fields, explored hidden beaches and waterfalls, and connected with like-minded souls from around the globe.
But perhaps the most transformative aspect of our trip was the realization that this lifestyle wasn't just a distant dream—it was within our reach. By embracing the "act as if" mindset and embodying the essence of our future selves, we were able to manifest our desires and create a blueprint for the life we truly wanted to live.
Our trip to Bali became the catalyst for profound change in our lives. It inspired us to reevaluate our priorities, redefine success on our own terms, and take bold action toward creating the life of our dreams.
It was a leap of faith unlike any other
On the 22nd of March 2018, which also happened to be our wedding anniversary, we decided to go all in with our dream. I quit my job as the Head of Recruitment and Michael quit his job as a Strategy Manager.
It was a leap of faith unlike any other. And the crazy part?
We didn't have a detailed business plan. We weren't bringing in consistent income. We had a mortgage to pay and a small family to support. By conventional standards, everything was red-flagged.
But you know what?
Despite all the uncertainties and challenges, our energy and vision were green-flagged. There was an undeniable sense of alignment and purpose guiding us forward. We knew deep down that this was the path we were meant to pursue, even if it didn't make logical sense at the time.
With an unwavering belief in ourselves and our vision, we dove headfirst into the unknown—not fueled by desperation or fear, but by passion and conviction.
We poured our hearts and souls into our work, trusting that the universe would meet us halfway. And you know what? It did. Opportunities started to unfold, connections were made, and doors began to open.
Sure, there were setbacks along the way. Times when we questioned our decisions and wondered if we were on the right path. But through it all, we held onto the belief that everything was happening for a reason—that every challenge was an opportunity in disguise.
Slowly but surely, our efforts began to bear fruit. Our business started to gain traction, our income became more consistent, and our dreams began to materialize before our eyes.
Looking back, it's clear that our willingness to take bold risks and trust in the process ultimately propelled us forward.
And while we may not have had all the answers or a foolproof plan, we had something far more valuable: faith in ourselves and the courage to follow our hearts.
